India, March 30 -- Global tally reportedly above 720,000; 5%patients critical; deaths above 33,000

India's tally of people who have tested postitive for the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) was at 1,024 on March 30, 2020 morning, according to the Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare. Among them, 96 were foreigners.

The pandemic (COVID-19) has killed 27 people until now in the country.

Maharashtra and Kerala continued to account for the largest number of cases at 186 and 182 respectively.

Global tally

The world now has had 722,196 positive cases resulting in 33,976 deaths, according to Worldometer. Among them, 536,454 cases were active, of which 5 per cent were serious or critical.
