India, Dec. 30 -- Zinc prices rose on Tuesday, gaining Rs 2.95 to Rs 307.20 per kilogram in futures trade, supported by a pick-up in spot market demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), zinc contracts for January delivery advanced by Rs 2.95, or 0.97 per cent, to Rs 307.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 5,247 lots.

Market participants said zinc prices were supported by the expansion of positions by traders, driven by improved demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
