India, Aug. 11 -- Zinc prices rose 45 paise to Rs 271.70 per kilogram in futures trade on Monday, driven by improved demand in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), September delivery contracts were up 45 paise, or 0.17%, at Rs 271.70 per kg, with a turnover of 597 lots.

Traders said the uptick was supported by participants increasing their positions amid rising demand from consuming industries.
