India, July 16 -- Zinc prices declined by 0.47% to Rs 255.45 per kilogram in futures trading on Wednesday, as traders pared down their positions amid subdued demand in the physical market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), zinc futures for August delivery dropped by Rs 1.20, or 0.47%, to Rs 255.45 per kg, with 1,495 lots traded.

Analysts attributed the price decline to weak demand from consuming industries, prompting speculators to reduce their exposure in response to negative cues from the spot market.
