India, May 26 -- Zinc prices climbed 40 paise to Rs 257.15 per kilogram in futures trading on Monday, supported by improved demand in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), zinc contracts for June delivery rose by 40 paise, or 0.16%, to Rs 257.15 per kg, with a turnover of 2,244 lots.

Analysts attributed the uptrend to increased buying by participants, driven by a revival in demand from consuming industries.
