India, Aug. 7 -- Zinc prices rose by Rs 1.65 to Rs 270.75 per kilogram on Thursday in futures trading, supported by increased demand in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the September zinc contract traded higher by Rs 1.65 or 0.61%, reaching Rs 270.75 per kg, with a total turnover of 349 lots.
According to market participants, the rise in prices was driven by participants widening their positions in response to improved demand from consuming industries, which kept zinc futures in positive territory.
