India, July 24 -- VA Tech WABAG, a leading Indian multinational in water technology, has secured a Letter of Award from the Saudi Water Authority (SWA) for a $272 million (INR 2,332 crore / SAR 1,019 million) Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) desalination project in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.
The 300 Million Litres per Day (MLD) mega desalination plant will be developed on a greenfield site along the country's west coast. The contract scope includes design, engineering, supply, construction, and commissioning, with a completion timeline of 30 months from the effective date, to be announced post-contract signing.
