India, Oct. 10 -- Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has unveiled an ambitious plan to venture into the data centre sector with a targeted capacity of up to 1 gigawatt (GW), backed by an investment of over USD 6.5 billion.

The initiative will be executed in phases over the next five to seven years. TCS CEO K. Krithivasan announced that the project will be financed through a combination of debt and partial equity contributions from financial investors, following the company's September quarter earnings update.
