India, Sept. 30 -- Tata Steel and its European subsidiary Tata Steel Nederland (TSN) have signed a non-binding Joint Letter of Intent (JLoI) with the Government of the Netherlands and the Province of North-Holland to advance an integrated decarbonisation and health measures project at the IJmuiden site.

The JLoI outlines the framework for the first phase of transition to low-CO2 steel production while improving the living environment around the plant. The agreement is non-binding but commits all parties to good-faith negotiations toward a tailor-made agreement, expected to be finalised in the coming months following Dutch elections and government formation.
