India, Jan. 9 -- The Tata Power Company Limited has successfully commissioned the 400/220 kV Metro Depot Substation along with associated transmission lines at Greater Noida, strengthening the Uttar Pradesh and Northern power grids. The project adds 1,000 MVA of transformation capacity to cater to the rising electricity demand in Greater Noida and the NCR region.
Surplus power from the system will also be injected into the Northern Grid, helping meet demand across other northern states.
The intra-state transmission project was executed through TP Jalpura Khurja Transmission Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, and represents the first milestone under the Jalpura–Khurja tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) project.
