India, May 22 -- Som Distilleries & Breweries Ltd., a prominent player in India's alcoholic beverages sector, has initiated a major expansion with the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for its new ?600 crore greenfield project in Khimsepur, Farrukhabad district, Uttar Pradesh.
The upcoming facility, spread over 40 acres of land allocated by the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), will include a brewery, distillery, and state-of-the-art manufacturing units under its subsidiary, Woodpecker Greenagri Nutrients.
