India, Dec. 2 -- Silver futures retreated from their record peak on Tuesday, slipping to Rs 1,78,777 per kg, while gold futures dropped to Rs 1,30,266 per 10 grams, as traders booked profits amid weak global cues.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver futures for March 2026 delivery fell Rs 3,253 (1.79%) to Rs 1,78,777 per kg in 14,678 lots. The metal snapped its seven-day winning streak after hitting an all-time high of Rs 1,82,998 per kg on Monday, when it had surged Rs 8,017 (4.6%).

Gold futures also edged lower, with February 2026 contracts declining Rs 386 (0.3%) to Rs 1,30,266 per 10 grams, recording a turnover of 13,413 lots on the MCX.
