India, Feb. 5 -- Precious metal prices declined sharply in the national capital on Thursday as silver tumbled 10 per cent to Rs 2.68 lakh per kg, while gold also weakened due to a global selloff and strength in the US dollar.
According to the All India Sarafa Association, silver dropped Rs 30,300, or 10.16 per cent, to Rs 2,68,000 per kilogram (inclusive of taxes), down from Rs 2,98,300 in the previous session.
Gold of 99.9 per cent purity also fell Rs 4,500, nearly 3 per cent, to Rs 1,60,600 per 10 grams, compared with Wednesday's close of Rs 1,65,100 per 10 grams.
