India, Sept. 4 -- Silver prices fell sharply in futures trade on Thursday, slipping Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,24,374 per kg on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) as traders pared positions amid weak global trends.

The white metal extended losses for a second straight session, shedding Rs 1,498 or 1.19 per cent in a turnover of 19,284 lots. Over the last two sessions, silver futures have dropped by Rs 1,926 or 1.52 per cent.
