India, Jan. 9 -- Silver prices bounced back sharply on Friday, gaining Rs 5,898 to settle at Rs 2,49,222 per kg, driven by value buying after two consecutive sessions of heavy profit booking.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver futures for March delivery jumped 2.42 per cent in 12,424 lots. The metal had closed at Rs 2,43,324 per kg in the previous session.
Meanwhile, gold prices also edged higher, trading at Rs 1,38,525 per 10 grams, supported by strong global market trends.
