India, July 23 -- Silver prices surged by Rs 465 to Rs 1,16,120 per kilogram in futures trading on Wednesday, as traders ramped up their positions.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver contracts for September delivery rose by 0.4% to Rs 1,16,120 per kg, with a trading volume of 20,631 lots.

Analysts attributed the price increase to fresh buying and the buildup of new positions by market participants.
