India, May 29 -- Sembcorp Industries announced on Thursday that it has won a 150 MW solar power project through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sembcorp Green Infra Pvt. Ltd. (SGIPL).
The project, awarded under SJVN Ltd.'s 1.2 GW tender for Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar projects, also includes a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) component of 300 MWh, forming part of a larger plan that features a total 600 MW/2.4 GWh BESS capacity.
According to a company statement, SGIPL has received the Letter of Award from SJVN Ltd for the build-own-operate solar power project, marking another step in Sembcorp's efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio in India.
