India, Oct. 30 -- South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has taken a major step toward enhancing hygiene, sustainability, and inclusivity in its mining areas by installing 43 bio-toilets under the Government of India's Special Campaign 5.0.

Of these, 16 bio-toilets were recently inaugurated in SECL's Sohagpur Area, while 27 were commissioned in the Bhatgaon Area. The initiative aims to strengthen sanitation infrastructure, particularly in mining zones where conventional facilities are limited.
