India, Nov. 20 -- The rupee slipped by 18 paise to 88.66 against the US dollar in early trade on Thursday, weighed down by a rebound in the American currency.
According to forex traders, the dollar strengthened past the 100 mark after the US Federal Reserve's minutes showed that most officials were against a December rate cut, following the reduction in October.
At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 88.63 and later weakened to a low of 88.66, marking an 18-paise decline from its previous close.
