India, Nov. 28 -- The rupee edged lower by 7 paise to 89.43 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday, pressured by a stronger greenback and rising global crude oil prices.

Forex analysts said the local currency also came under pressure due to continued foreign fund outflows, while investors remained cautious ahead of the July–September GDP data expected later in the day.

At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened slightly weaker at 89.41 and slipped further to 89.43 against the dollar in early deals, marking a 7-paise decline from its previous close.
