India, Aug. 13 -- The rupee eased 6 paise to 87.69 against the US dollar in Wednesday's morning session, moving within a narrow range as depreciation pressures persisted amid continuous foreign fund outflows.

According to forex traders, the Reserve Bank of India has been actively intervening to curb sharp weakness in the currency. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 87.63 and slipped to an intra-day low of 87.69 in early deals, down from its previous close.
