India, April 15 -- Retail inflation eased slightly to 3.34% in March, marking its lowest level in nearly six years, primarily due to a decline in the prices of vegetables and protein-rich foods.

In comparison, the Consumer Price Index (CPI)-based inflation stood at 3.61% in February and 4.85% in March last year.

The current inflation rate is the lowest since August 2019, when it had dropped to 3.28%.
