India, Feb. 13 -- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued amendment directions related to capital market exposure (CME) norms for commercial banks and small finance banks, following a review of stakeholder feedback on draft guidelines released in October 2025.

The revised framework aims to provide an enabling environment for banks to finance acquisitions by Indian corporates, enhance lending limits against shares, REITs and InvITs, and remove the regulatory ceiling on lending against listed debt securities. It also introduces a more principle-based approach for lending to capital market intermediaries.
