India, Jan. 5 -- Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh on January 5, 2026, commissioned Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Samudra Pratap in Goa, marking a major milestone in India's push for Aatmanirbharta in shipbuilding. Built by Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), the vessel is India's first indigenously designed pollution control ship and the largest in the Indian Coast Guard fleet, with over 60 percent indigenous content.
