India, Dec. 9 -- Under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY), rooftop solar systems have been installed in 23.96 lakh households, accounting for 23.96% of the scheme's target of 1 crore households to be achieved by FY 2026-27.
The demand-driven scheme enables residential consumers with grid-connected electricity connections to apply through the National Portal. As of December 3, 2025, 53.54 lakh applications have been received and 19.17 lakh rooftop systems installed, benefiting 23.96 lakh households nationwide.
