India, Aug. 5 -- The Union Cabinet has approved the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) on July 16, 2025, for a six-year period starting from the financial year 2025-26. The scheme is designed to improve agricultural productivity, promote crop diversification and sustainable farming practices, strengthen post-harvest storage at the panchayat and block levels, enhance irrigation facilities, and ensure better access to both long-term and short-term agricultural credit.

PMDDKY will be implemented through the convergence of 36 existing schemes across 11 Central Government departments, in coordination with relevant state-level schemes and partnerships with the private sector.
