India, July 21 -- Patel Engineering announced on Monday that it has secured a ?240 crore contract from state-owned NHPC for civil and hydro-mechanical works at the Teesta-V power project in Sikkim.

The scope of work includes modifying the diversion tunnel into a tunnel spillway system, under Package 6 of the Teesta-V project, the company said in a statement.

Located in Sikkim's South District, the project is expected to be completed within 18 months.
