India, Oct. 16 -- Ola Electric, India's largest electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced its entry into the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) segment with the launch of 'Ola Shakti', the company's first residential energy storage solution.

Marking Ola's diversification beyond mobility, Ola Shakti is designed as a portable, on-demand energy resource for homes, farms, and businesses, leveraging the company's indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell technology produced at the Ola Gigafactory. Ola expects its annual BESS capacity to scale up to 5 GWh in the next few years.
