India, Oct. 8 -- The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on Tuesday announced a series of new initiatives aimed at enhancing its flagship Unified Payments Interface (UPI) ecosystem, including the introduction of on-device biometric authentication.
In addition, NPCI launched Aadhaar-based Face Authentication for UPI, enabling users to set or reset their UPI PIN using Aadhaar-linked biometric verification.
Another key announcement was the introduction of a new cash withdrawal facility through Micro ATMs using UPI at UPI Cash Points operated by business correspondents, according to an official statement.
