India, Oct. 30 -- The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has achieved significant savings of ?2,062 crore in toll collection costs at public-funded toll plazas during FY 2024–25. The cost of toll collection dropped sharply from ?4,736 crore in FY 2023–24 to ?2,674 crore in FY 2024–25, reducing the expense ratio from 17.27% to 9.27%.
In FY 2024–25, toll agencies collected approximately ?28,823 crore, remitting ?26,149 crore to NHAI. In contrast, the previous year saw collections of ?27,417 crore, with ?22,681 crore remitted.
