India, Nov. 7 -- The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has initiated a project to remove a major traffic bottleneck near Subroto Park Air Force Station in New Delhi by widening the carriageway on the left-hand side (towards Gurugram) from two lanes to four lanes.

The initiative aims to improve traffic flow and enhance connectivity between Dhaula Kuan and Delhi Airport, where congestion currently occurs at the start of the Parade Road underpass due to a narrowing of the road near a Metro pillar. To facilitate the widening, relocation of the existing drain, peripheral road, and a portion of the Air Force Station's building is being undertaken. The project is expected to be completed within six months.
