India, July 23 -- Natco Pharma announced on Wednesday that it has proposed to acquire nearly a 36% stake in South African pharmaceutical company Adcock Ingram Holdings in a cash transaction valued at up to Rs 2,100 crore.

The Hyderabad-based company has submitted a firm intention offer to acquire shares from minority shareholders at R75 (USD 4.271) per share.

If the offer is accepted, Natco will acquire a 35.75% stake in Adcock Ingram, amounting to approximately R4 billion (USD 226 million), according to its regulatory filing.
