India, July 7 -- MRC Agrotech Ltd has announced the commencement of large-scale maize cultivation on 50 acres of leased farmland in Malegaon, Nashik district, Maharashtra. The operations began in July 2025, as part of the company's ongoing efforts to expand its agricultural footprint and strengthen its agro-based value chain.
The company is cultivating two commercially important maize variants—one for flour production (maize atta), commonly used in the food processing industry for items like porridge, bread, and gluten-free products; and the other for cattle feed, targeting the dairy, poultry, and livestock sectors as a high-energy nutritional ingredient.
