India, Nov. 17 -- The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has approved a 26% increase in government advertisement rates for print publications, aiming to strengthen the financial stability of the print media sector.
Under the revised structure, the rate for black-and-white advertisements for dailies with one lakh copies has been raised from ?47.40 to ?59.68 per sq. cm. The government has also accepted recommendations to enhance premium rates for colour ads and preferential positioning.
The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), the nodal agency for government publicity, last revised print ad rates in January 2019 based on recommendations of the 8th Rate Structure Committee.
