India, June 4 -- Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has strengthened its commitment to renewable energy by expanding its solar power capacity by 30MWp through two new projects. The company has commissioned a 20MWp solar power plant at its new Kharkhoda facility in Haryana and added another 10MWp to its existing Manesar plant. With these additions, MSIL's total solar capacity has grown from 49MWp to 79MWp over the past year.
In addition to expanding solar power, the company is also increasing its procurement of green energy from State Electricity Boards. These initiatives are aimed at significantly reducing reliance on conventional energy sources and enhancing the use of renewable energy in operations.
