India, Aug. 1 -- Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced on Friday that it has secured a significant order, valued between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 5,000 crore, from Vedanta Group's Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL) for the design and commissioning of a new plant.

According to a stock exchange filing, the contract was awarded to L&T's minerals and metals business vertical.

As part of its expansion strategy, Hindustan Zinc is establishing a 250 kilotonne per annum (KTPA) leaching, purification, and cellhouse facility, along with a 125 KTPA Jarosite Circuit at its Debari Smelter Complex in Rajasthan.
