India, June 23 -- Paddy sowing during the current Kharif season has increased by 58% to 13.22 lakh hectares, compared to 8.37 lakh hectares during the same period last year, according to government data.
The Department of Agriculture, in an official statement released on Monday, shared the latest progress on area coverage under Kharif (summer-sown) crops as of June 20, 2025.
