India, June 10 -- Jana Small Finance Bank (Jana SFB) announced that it has officially submitted an application to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to obtain a universal banking licence.
Describing the move as a major milestone in its growth trajectory, the bank said the application underscores its long-term commitment to financial inclusion, innovation, and sustainable banking practices.
Over the years, Jana SFB has developed a robust retail and MSME franchise, significantly expanded its digital and physical presence nationwide, and consistently met key financial performance and governance benchmarks, the statement added.
