India, Oct. 27 -- The Indian Navy will commission Ikshak, its third indigenously built Survey Vessel (Large), at Naval Base Kochi on November 6, 2025. The commissioning ceremony will be presided over by Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, marking the formal induction of the vessel into active service.

Constructed by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) Ltd., Kolkata, under the supervision of the Directorate of Ship Production and the Warship Overseeing Team (Kolkata), Ikshak features over 80% indigenous content. The ship stands as a symbol of successful collaboration between GRSE and Indian MSMEs, reinforcing the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and advancing India's self-reliance in naval shipbuilding.
