India, Oct. 14 -- Addressing the Global Stock Take (GST) breakout session during the Pre-CoP30 Meetings in Brasilia on 13th October, Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav highlighted the successful completion of the first GST, calling it a strong affirmation that the Paris Agreement is being implemented in earnest.
The GST, a five-year process to assess global progress toward the Paris Agreement goals, is designed to strengthen climate ambition by allowing countries to evaluate collective progress, identify gaps, and guide enhanced domestic and global actions. Shri Yadav emphasized that the GST serves as a driving force, generating political momentum and fostering continuous efforts toward higher climate ambition.
