India, Aug. 29 -- India's GDP expanded 7.8% in April–June, marking the strongest growth in five quarters, prior to the imposition of disruptive US tariffs.

Government data showed the robust performance was largely driven by the farm sector.

With this, India continues to hold the title of the world's fastest-growing major economy, outpacing China's 5.2% growth during the same period.
