India, Jan. 9 -- Reinforcing the vision of Government of India's Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, India has significantly reduced its dependence on fertilizer imports, with domestic production meeting nearly 73 per cent of the country's total fertilizer requirement in 2025. The milestone marks a major step towards self-reliance while ensuring uninterrupted and timely availability of fertilizers for farmers across the country.
With fertilizer security as a priority, the Government has focused on long-term supply arrangements for critical raw materials and adopted a strategy of strategic diversification to mitigate global uncertainties and supply-chain disruptions.
