India, Sept. 30 -- India has been re-elected to Part II of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a specialized UN agency, with a stronger mandate in the 42nd ICAO Assembly Session held in Montreal on September 27, 2025.

Part II of the Council comprises nations that make the largest contributions to the provision of facilities for international civil air navigation. India secured more votes than in the 2022 elections, underscoring the growing confidence of member states in its leadership and commitment to global civil aviation.
