India, Aug. 5 -- India is actively participating in discussions on a proposed India-USA Bilateral Trade Agreement aimed at enhancing trade and investment ties, with a focus on fostering fair growth, national security, and job creation—particularly in labour-intensive sectors such as agriculture.

The ongoing talks are centred around adopting an integrated approach to strengthen bilateral trade by mutually increasing market access, reducing tariff and non-tariff barriers, and deepening supply chain integration.

The Government has emphasized that the livelihood interests of Indian farmers and national food security priorities remain central in all trade negotiations with global partners, including the United States.
