India, Dec. 11 -- Guar seed prices increased by Rs 56 to Rs 4,965 per quintal in futures trade on Thursday, as speculators expanded their positions amid a firm trend in the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), guar seed for January delivery rose 1.13% to Rs 4,965 per quintal, with an open interest of 58,930 lots.

Market participants said the price rise was driven by stronger spot demand, higher speculative buying, and limited supplies from key producing regions.
