India, Nov. 14 -- Guar seed prices climbed by Rs 17 to Rs 4,701 per quintal in Friday's futures trade as speculators increased their positions amid a steady trend in the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, December guar seed contracts advanced Rs 17, or 0.36%, to Rs 4,701 per quintal, with an open interest of 52,230 lots.

Market participants said the price uptick was driven by higher speculative bets, firm spot demand, and limited arrivals from key producing regions.
