India, Dec. 31 -- Guar seed prices moved higher in futures trade on Wednesday, supported by firm demand in the spot market and increased speculative activity. Prices rose by Rs 68 to Rs 6,123 per quintal as traders widened their positions amid tight supplies.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), guar seed contracts for January delivery gained Rs 68, or 1.12 per cent, to trade at Rs 6,123 per quintal, with open interest at 34,580 lots.
Market participants said the rise was driven by speculators increasing bets, a firm trend in the physical market, and thin supplies from major growing belts.
