India, Dec. 12 -- Guar seed futures advanced Rs 49 to Rs 5,013 per quintal on Friday, as speculators increased their positions amid a firm trend in the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), January guar seed contracts rose 0.98% to Rs 5,013 per quintal, with an open interest of 58,305 lots.

Market participants attributed the price rise to higher speculative betting, robust spot market demand, and limited supplies from key growing regions.
