India, Dec. 16 -- Guar seed prices on Tuesday rose by Rs 22 to Rs 5,308 per quintal in futures trade as speculators expanded their positions amid a firm trend in the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), guar seed contracts for January delivery gained Rs 22, or 0.41%, to trade at Rs 5,308 per quintal, with open interest at 59,535 lots.

Market participants said the rise was driven by increased speculative buying, firm spot market cues, and thin supplies from key producing regions.
