India, March 23 -- Guar gum prices dropped by Rs 98 to Rs 9,965 per quintal in futures trade on Monday, as traders trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), guar gum contracts for April delivery fell Rs 98, or 0.97 per cent, to Rs 9,965 per quintal across 56,635 lots.

Market participants attributed the decline to subdued demand in the spot market along with ample supplies from producing regions, which kept prices under pressure.
